I always meet with parents as many times as they feel
necessary. I like you to meet with all members of my family, tour the
house and garden, and discuss details and answer queries before
deciding if the arrangement meets mutual expectations. I like to meet
both parents, and visit the child in their own home.
I use NCMA contracts; these are discussed fully, and
cover fees, hours, holidays, illness, overtime and lateness.
Contracts
are reviewed six monthly. A settling in contract is agreed for the
first four weeks with a week’s notice on either side, thereafter
four weeks notice or pay in lieu of notice is required.
I also use a retainer contract if a place is
available, but not required until a later date. Childcare is available
by arrangement during the retainer period. In some circumstances a
deposit may be taken for a place, but does not necessarily guarantee a
place.
Payments are made one month in advance on the first
working day, and preferably direct to the bank. Overtime and extra
hours are settled at the time they are used.
